The Film

Miso, a shiba inu in search of companionship, looks through profiles on Matcha, a dating app where all profiles are generated by AI. As Miso experiences highs and lows, Matcha gets to know him bit by bit. With Matcha’s help, Miso finds an unexpected match and a deeper understanding of himself.

Dedicated to all beings seeking connections, this film explores loneliness, self-discovery, and AI’s role in it.

Technical Notes

All shots are generated with Runway Gen-2, Pika, DALL-E, and Gemini. Runway video editing tools such as Inpainting were utilized to enhance some of the shots. We also experimented with using Gemini and ChatGPT in the ideation process of screenwriting.

The App

We actually built the Matcha app with OpenAI GPT-4 and DALL-E APIs. Building and testing the app inspired our script-writing and informed other creative decisions.
