Confinement

Confinement. Inspired by Judd’s writing, “Statement for the Chinati Foundation” (1987), and the discovery of the third-quarter.

“The enterprise in Marfa was meant to be constructive. The art was meant to be, and now will be, permanently installed and maintained in a space suitable to it. Most of the art was made for the existing buildings, which were dilapidated.”

It is ironic to think that Judd broke ground by taking art out of the buildings. And in 2020, we are confined to the buildings ourselves.
